Examination room at the Kinderarztpraxis im Westbad

Dear patients, dear families, we are an appointment practice.

So that our practice routine can be planned as well as possible for you and for all of us, we need your help and your trust. Below we explain how you can make an appointment with us. Please read everything carefully and take your time.

Acute presentation and new families: phone call
  • Every patient with an illness (acute or long-standing) and every new family is given an appointment by telephone. If you nevertheless come to our practice in person, you will be given an appointment at the counter.
  • Please call us between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and you will be given an appointment for an acute illness on the same day.
  • Please keep as closely as possible to the agreed time; if you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be given a new appointment at the counter or by telephone. However, please do not arrive a long time before your appointment, as this places an unnecessary burden on you, your child and our waiting areas.
  • If your child's illness is not life-threatening but unusually severe, you can present yourself at the counter in our practice. A paediatric nurse, or a doctor if needed, will carry out an immediate assessment of whether your child needs to be treated without delay. If we assess the illness as not urgent, you will be given an appointment at the counter.
  • If you cannot reach us by telephone, please write us an e-mail with your telephone number in exceptional cases. We will make every effort to reach you within a reasonable time.

Why do we want to work this way? Until now, you had to spend your waiting time in the waiting room. This was a burden for your child, for you and for us. Thanks to precise structuring, you have the same waiting time until the medical consultation, but you spend it far more comfortably and with a reduced risk of infection for everyone, in the familiar and quiet surroundings of your own home.

Vaccination appointments: PraxisApp
  • Please arrange a vaccination appointment exclusively via the PraxisApp.
  • Please arrange a separate vaccination appointment for each child individually. Spontaneously bringing along siblings is not possible for organisational reasons.
  • Please always book only the appointment for the next upcoming vaccination. Any illness of your child or other unforeseen circumstances will disrupt his or her vaccination schedule and also affect the possible timing of follow-up appointments.
  • For organisational reasons, appointment requests by e-mail, telephone or in person at the counter unfortunately cannot be processed.
  • Vaccinations given during a preventive check-up do not require a separate vaccination appointment.
  • If your child is ill on the day of the vaccination appointment or has not been fever-free for 14 days, please be sure to cancel the vaccination appointment by e-mail or telephone at least 24 hours in advance. This way, the appointment remains available to all other patients. If you are not sure whether your child is healthy enough for the vaccination, please contact us by telephone beforehand.
  • A vaccination appointment is intended exclusively for one vaccination.
  • You can find a timeline for the planned vaccinations and check-ups on our website under "Online appointment timeline".
Preventive check-ups: PraxisApp
  • Please arrange a check-up appointment via the PraxisApp. Exceptions are appointments for a U2 or U3 examination, which we ask you to request by telephone.
  • Please arrange a check-up appointment in good time. Experience shows that most appointments for check-ups from the U7 onwards are booked out around 3 months in advance. Appointments from U4 to U6 naturally have a somewhat shorter lead time.
  • Please arrange a separate check-up appointment for each child individually. Spontaneously bringing along siblings is not possible for organisational reasons.
  • Please always book only the appointment for the next upcoming check-up.
  • For organisational reasons, appointment requests by e-mail, telephone or in person at the counter unfortunately cannot be processed.
  • Vaccinations given during a preventive check-up do not require a separate vaccination appointment.
  • You can find a timeline for the planned vaccinations and check-ups on our website under "Online appointment timeline".
Medical documents: PraxisApp
  • We ask you to submit requests for medical prescriptions via the chat function of the PraxisApp.
  • This includes: planned certificates of incapacity to work or sick notes, prescriptions for long-term medication and aids, referrals, prescriptions for remedial treatments (speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy), transport certificates, and planned hospital admissions.
  • We automatically make these available for you to collect after 24 hours. Should we have any questions for you, we will contact you by telephone. Please always provide your contact details in full.
  • For planned cures or rehabilitation stays, we ask you to describe in detail who is to be treated and why. Once we have completed the application, we will get in touch with you.
